There’s not much reason to see this film other than the Roger Deakins photography. Though inoffensive, its slow pace is a source of frustration given its lack of originality, lack of real observational depth, and predictability. There’s the acting, but it’s the showcase variety where the blockbuster-associated leads want to prove they’ve got some chops. Watch Gone Baby Gone instead.
