Between this and Coraline I’m becoming something of a fan of Laika. Beautifully designed, with a script that successfully interweaves diverse story elements, ParaNorman not only delivers edgier material than the usual whitewash fare, it is thematically mature and conscientious. It is children who must deal with the mistakes of the past, so why do we distort it?
