Flame and Citron

Flame and Citron

The Danish don’t make many movies, but this is a fairly solid thriller in the vein of Munich, centring on two Nazi-killers. Sadly, the comparison to the Spielberg masterpiece doesn’t do the film any favours. It is for a long period pretty dull, its plot devices too generic to be gripping as intended, and it could have done with being a bit more plot driven despite Mads Mikkelsen’s strong turn. Things start to shape up around the halfway point, though, and the film becomes genuinely interesting, climaxing in a spectacular, excellent finale.
