What colour are my eyes?
Paul Thomas Anderson’s 6th film takes place entirely in the theatre of the mind… perhaps. Not much is certain in a puzzle without a master key, not even the extent of the narrative’s unreliability. Attentive viewers are rewarded with a multitude of hints (and suggestive imagery) spiralling the mind into various incompatible tangential readings.
In other words, it’s quality art filmmaking. Yes, you’ll need to see it again. But yes, you’ll want to.
