Friends with Kids

Friends with Kids

Friends with Kids is a glorious anti-rom-com about two longtime friends and their unorthodox decision to have a child together and continue dating other people. Of course, from the first minute it’s obvious where it’s going, yet it’s not as predictable as you’d think. Steering far clear of sentimentality, jumping forward sometimes months at a time without warning, and developed enough as to not be repetitive, it’s a very well written and performed movie that addresses its own tricks and has something intelligent to say. And it’s really, really fucking sweet. Above even 500 Days of Summer, but for remembering The Apartment I was ready to declare it my new favourite rom-com. Fuck Nora Ephron – this is wonderful.
